My essay didn’t come out the best, but it didn’t come out the worst. It started weak, but gradually got better with each piece of new information that I put in. Coming up with a thesis was also kind of difficult, and so it trying to make it long enough. My first paragraph was only 2 sentences, and I didn’t know what to put in the make it longer. My supporting paragraphs were kind of biased towards one ad. I kept supporting one ad and putting down the other one. I feel like my conclusion came out pretty well, I compared and contrasted the two ads, and wrapped everything up nicely.
Good job.

I agree with you on the starting part. It was also the area that I was struggling in and as I continued to write, I was able to improve the essay. I don’t think that the thesis that I wrote was good enough for the essay, but the evidence back it up and provide enough support to the thesis. 2 sentences is a lot for a thesis for Rhetorical Essays. I tried to support both ads and claimed that they were both effective.

It’s fine to have 2 sentences in your introduction. All you need is your thesis which is one sentence.

Good stuff right there, similar problems but I had a problem with the conclusion.

The hardest part of this essay was most definitely the thesis. Everything you just described I basically went through. The question was a pretty hard one to answer, and it turned out to make a pretty weak thesis statement for my case. The evidence and body paragraph details were however fairly strong. Next time, if the question is better I think we’d definitely have a better thesis. Though if not, then we just have to plan the essay out better.

I also agree with struggling on the thesis part. I struggled coming up with a thesis also. I think we should keep practicing on making a perfect thesis.
